Preliminary requirements

Before buying, you should check that you meet the preliminary access requirements and carry out a compatibility test with your own computer. The HW and SW requirements are as follows:

  • A computer with a Windows 8 (or more recent) operating system (except for Windows 10 S which is not supported) with at least 4 GB of RAM or a macOS 10.13 (or more recent);
  • A webcam with a minimum of 640x480 video pixel resolution (webcams built in the laptop or in the monitor are permitted);
  • Speakers connected to the computer. The use of headphones is allowed only during the preliminary stage of exam;
  • A screen with a minimum resolution of 1366 x 768
  • A microphone connected to the computer (the webcam microphone, the computer microphone and the headphone microphone are allowed);
  • A browser with Adobe Flash Player installed (Google Chrome is recommended and updated to the last version for Windows and OS);
  • An Internet Connection (minimum download and upload speed 1 Mbps);
  • The possibility to consent to screen sharing.

Exam procedure

The exam is carried out in different phases, as shown below.

Phase 1- Exam purchase
The exam can be purchased on this site. Upon successful completion, you will receive a voucher code via email that you will need to be able to take the exam.

Phase 2- Registration on the APMG site and to the exam
The first step is to register for the exam on the APMG website (link sent via mail with the voucher code). In this phase, you will also be asked to provide your personal data and schedule the date and time of the exam.
When finished, click on the "Proceed" button and you will be redirected to the website of ProctorU to schedule your examination.

Phase 3 – Registration on the ProctorU site and scheduling the exam
In order to confirm or change date and hour chosen for the examination, you need to register to ProctorU site. In this phase, you will be asked again to provide your personal data and schedule the date and the time of the exam.
Once you select the date and time, simply confirm it by clicking on the "Schedule Exam". The system will show at this point a clock "countdown" until the examination is set to happen.

Phase 4 - Take the exam
Before taking the exam you should:

  • Download and install the Guardian Browser, that will enable candidates to share their screen and camera with a proctor. It will be temporarily installed on the candidate’s computer and it will be discarded after the exam has completed.
  • Check the system requirements in advance and run the automated equipment check before the exam day 
  • Read the Exam Readiness Guide and prepare to follow all exam rules
  • If you will use a company device, share the Port Allow list with your IT team

To take the exam you must connect again to ProctorU . You should do this 15 minutes before the examination start time. Once you press the button "connect to Proctor", the exam session will start and you will be connected to a video conference with a supervisor who will explain the exam format to you.

To be able to take the exam, it's necessary to have read and accepted the terms and conditions of examination institute. The acceptance of such terms and conditions will have to be confirmed when taking the exam.
In order to ensure that you get past the supervisor's preliminary checks please remember that you must:

  • Have with you a valid ID document with photo
  • Remember your booking reference
  • Have a handheld mirror with you or nearby. The Proctor will ask you to hold up the mirror to show no sticky notes are on your computer screen.
  • Clear your workspace and desk               
  • Disconnect additional monitors
  • Practice your 360 degree scan of the room using your webcam

During the examination:

  • It is required to ensure good lighting of the face and the environment, turn off all phones and do not receive any visitors during the examination
  • It is necessary that there are not background noise in the environment
Rescheduling of the online exam session and voucher code validity extension

You can change date and time of the exam for free up to 24 hours before the date chosen. If you want to change date and time from 24 hours before the exam, APMG will charge you directly with £20. The same fee will be applied for candidates who do not sit for the exam and want to reschedule the session after the deadline. 

From March 20, 2023, APMG vouchers cannot be extended anymore. To take the exam after the initial voucher expiration, you will need to purchase a new exam.

Hard copy certificates and digital badges

As of the 26th of January 2021 a secure digital e-certificate will be provided to each candidate alongside their digital badge.
These certificates will be generated and stored in their personal Credly account. Each certificate will have a unique, verifiable link built into it allowing individuals, teams, managers and employers to quickly validate any certificate presented electronically. This verification link provides the same, simple, secure authentication of a digital badge.
These certificates are being provided at no extra cost alongside their digital badges.
Candidates will be able to print their own copy of these certificates on demand from their account on Credly.
Candidates will find the link to the badge in their candidate portal.
