What is ExamShield?
ExamShield is PeopleCert’s secure lockdown application that allows registered Candidates to take their PeopleCert online proctored exam.
By using the ExamShield application candidates will be able to take a System compatibility check, ensure their computer meets the minimum requirements, log in to access their upcoming exam and connect with their proctor who will validate their exam session and initiate their exam.
ExamShield can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store to take certification exams with PeopleCert
Where can I download the ExamShield application?
The ExamShield application is now available through the Microsoft Store!
This means that the application is now easier to install on corporate computers. Corporates can now list ExamShield to their own Microsoft Private Store and allow their users to install it also on employee computers.
Candidates taking a PeopleCert Online Proctored Exam on their personal computers can either download the ExamShield application from the Microsoft Store or from their PeopleCert Account.

AXELOS Limited, the company that was in charge of managing, developing and growing the portfolio of best practices and methodologies in project, programme and portfolio management, as well as IT and digitally enabled services, including PRINCE2® and ITIL®, was acquired by PeopleCert in June 2021.
This acquisition will result in significant changes in all products previously managed by AXELOS starting from 2022 and this will also affect all authorized training organizations (ATOs).
The Impact of PeopleCert's Acquisition on AXELOS Products
What will change from 2022?
- Official manuals in PDF format will be included with the purchase of a Foundation training course. The digital book will become available to candidates when entering the voucher on PeopleCert’s platform. Candidates will not need to schedule the exam at the time of the voucher redemption. Instead, they will have the option to schedule the exam at a later date, gaining access to their eBook in the meantime. It will still be possible, from January 1st 2022 onwards, to purchase hard copy manuals through PeopleCert.
- Exams will only be available in digital format and will have to be taken online on PeopleCert’s platform. Paper-format exams will no longer be available. All candidates will need to book autonomously their exams online on PeopleCert’s platform, including students that have attended classroom courses. - In response to these recent changes applied by PeopleCert, iLEARN will be increasing prices for all products related to certifications issued by PeopleCert. These include ITIL® 4, PRINCE2®, PRINCE2 Agile®, MoP®, M_o_R®, MoV®, MSP® and P3O®.

The possibility to use official PDF manuals during online exams has now been further extended by PeopleCert.
In April 2020, PeopleCert, in association with AXELOS, had adjusted the requirements for the use of e-books during PeopleCert Online Proctored (OLP) open-book exams. This was initially valid until June 30th 2021 and it was extended until December 31st 2021. This measure has now been further extended until March 31st 2022.
This measure allows candidates to:
- Use e-book PDFs on a second e-device (portable digital devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops) during open-book exams
- Print e-book PDFs for use during open-book exams

After the publication of ITIL® 4 certification scheme, PeopleCert and AXELOS have announces the gradual withdrawal of ITIL® v3 certification scheme exams.
The process has begun with the withdrawal of ITIL® v3 Foundation in English. At the moment, ITIL® v3 Foundation exams are available in the other published languages.
Transitioning from ITIL® v3 to ITIL® 4: Important Updates on Certification Scheme Withdrawal
Now it's ITIL® v3 Intermediate certifications turn. In fact, all ITIL® v3 Intermediate exams in English will be withdrawn starting from 1st January 2022.
After this deadline, only exams in the other published languages will remain available.
WHY TO PURCHASE NOW ITIL® V3 INTERMEDIATE EXAMS?
ITIL® v3 certifications will be valid even after their withdrawal. By the way, it is always recommended to achieve the last versions of certifications and best practices.
Candidates who own 17 ITIL® v3 credits will have the possibility to access ITIL® 4 Managing Professional Transition, the transition module that allows to obtain directly ITIL® 4 Managing Professional qualification, that would otherwise be obtained by passing four exams of the new ITIL® 4 scheme.
If you already own a number of ITIL® v3 credits, but you have not achieved th 17 credits necessary to access the transition module, you can complete the necessary ITIL® v3 in the last day of availability to obtain the missing credits.

As part of ISACA’s “Digital First” initiative, a transition to a new association management system, ISACA’s website will be offline for approximately four-and-a-half days in mid-September. During that time, students will be unable to access the ISACA website and it will not be possible to take or register for a certification or certificate exam. The “site blackout” is planned for September 9th at 5 a.m. BST (September 8th at 11 p.m. CDT) to September 13th at 3 p.m. BST (9 a.m. CDT), and the certification exam blackout is planned from 8th to 14th of September.

What are some of the biggest changes?
- Learners will need to reset their password to ISACA.org
- The “Log In” and “My Info” pages will look different.
- The renewal process on the web site will look different.
- Registration will be simplified for ISACA Global events.
- The web site will have a different look a new/streamlined checkout process, and better ways to search ISACA products.
How can students contact ISACA during the outage?
For urgent, time-sensitive matters, members and certification holders can contact ISACA’s Customer Support Team via phone. However, ISACA encourages those with questions to first reference the variety of self-help options that will be published on the ISACA website in the form of FAQs, banner messages and videos before the outage.

The upgraded PeopleCert Multilingual Online Proctoring new languages are:

How can candidates request their native language for online proctoring with PeopleCert?
When scheduling their exam and based on availability, candidates can now choose their native language as the language of communication with the Online proctor. The purchase of exam vouchers and the exam process itself remain the same.
PeopleCert Customer Service has also increased its capacity in these 5 new languages between 9am and 5pm (local time for respective countries). Candidates can contact Customer Service through telephone, email, or live chat in the above languages, upon availability. They can also leave a message to get called back or talk to an English-speaking agent.

As a result of the various adjustments made by organisations across the world to adapt to current restrictions while ensuring business continuity, PeopleCert, in association with AXELOS, has adjusted the requirements for the use of e-books during PeopleCert Online Proctored (OLP) open-book exams. As of 1 January 2020, PRINCE2 2017 will be referred to as PRINCE2 6th edition and PRINCE2 2009 will be referred to as PRINCE2 5th edition. ITIL is the most widespread and globally used framework for IT Service Management.
AXELOS has now announced that a new version will come out in 2019, ITIL® 4.
The owner of this best practice is still working on it but it has already announced its brand new certification scheme.
The new curriculum will be easier than the previous one and more suitable to everyone's needs. Now we only have to wait for the modules content to be revealed.
THE NEW CERTIFICATION SCHEME

The new scheme is much easier than ITIL 2011 one.
It's composed by three levels of certifications and 5 total qualifications:
1. Basic level: ITIL® Foundation
2. Two specialization routes:
- ITIL® Managing Professional (MP) - 4 modules
- ITIL® Specialist: Create, Deliver & Support
- ITIL® Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value
- ITIL® Specialist: High Velocity IT
- ITIL® Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve
- ITIL® Strategic Leader (SL) - 2 modules
- ITIL® Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve
- ITIL® Leader: Digital & IT Strategy
3. ITIL® Master
Note that the ITIL Strategist module is common to both routes. This is is given by the fact that, in each route, you need to own the complete set of the corresponding qualification in order to obtain the certification.
RELEASE DATES
The ITIL 4 modules will be released according to the below top-level timelines.
- ITIL Foundation – Q1 2019
- ITIL Specialist modules (3) – H2 2019
- ITIL Strategist – H2 2019
- ITIL Leader – H2 2019
- ITIL Master – details to be released at a later date.
ITIL v3 AND ITIL 2011 CERTIFICATIONS VALIDITY
If you already achieved ITIL v3 Certifications and you do not want to lose them, AXELOS has created recommended routes that allow candidates to transition while still gaining skills and knowledge needed to understand the core concepts of ITIL 4.
There will be also a transition module, the ITIL® Managing Professional Transition Module, designed for ITIL v3 candidates who are ITIL Experts or who have achieved 17 credits from across the v3 scheme.
